The differences between Cat6, Cat5e, Cat5 is rather big in some cases.
For example, Category 5 keystone jacks and cables can only support up to 100Mbp/s as it is a T-100 connection type.
Category 6 and 5e cables and keystone jacks can support up to 1Gbp/s as they are both 1GBASE-T or 1-gigabit connection types.
The difference between Category 6 and Category 5e is that Category 6 can support up to 10GBASE-T over short distances using shielded pair. Category 6 cables and keystone jacks also run over the 250Mhz frequency band which can support a larger throughput compared to Category5e.
In many homes and commercial cases outside a datacenter 10GBASE-T or 10-gigabit is typically not saught after. Which makes most people lean towards the Cat5e cabling. In many cases though, Verbex Cables are priced competitively. Typically our Category 6 cabling and jacks are priced at or below Category5e cabling. The reason is due to the large surge of people moving to Category 6 due to the price decreases.
In most cases, it makes sense to put in Category 6 cabling and keystone jacks. The great thing about Category 6 keystone jacks is that they are backwards compatible with Category 5e and 5 cables. Verbex equipment included.
Keystone Jacks are also referred to as RJ45 jacks, Wall plate jacks, RJ45 ethernet plugs and a few others.
